The state track meet was held May 3-5 in Gulf Shores. Coach Graben, the new track coach, helped Springville have an incredible season. Springville had its highest number of qualifiers with over twenty athletes!

In the relays, Springville qualified in four. The girls 4 by 100 had Farrah Hawkins, Kira Young, Katyln Cooley, and Raelan Williams. They finished 24th. The boys 4 by 400 team also ran, and it consisted of Jacob Bickerstaff, Aaron Byars, Cameron Bonner, and Brian Davis. They came in 21st. The girls 4 by 800 team was made up of Elly Wyatt, Caroline Tucker, Abbey Smith, and Ashlea Poesy. They finished 17th. The boys 4 by 800 relay team had the following members: Stewart Allen, Graham Bianchi, Peyton Young, and Chris Smith. They finished 9th.

As for individual runners, there were four athletes. Stewart Allen finished thirteenth in 800, eleventh in 1600, and tenth in 3200. Graham Bianchi finished eighteenth in 1600 and twentieth in 3200. Nic Grithith finished seventeenth in the 110 hurdles, and Riley Garrison finished fourteenth in the 110 hurdles.

Those competing in field also did extremely well. Aaron Byars finished ninth in long jump. Kala Poesy finished fifteenth in javelin. Riley Barrett came in nineteenth  in discus.

The track and field team had a great season and are looking forward to state next year!
