Most people say you should wait eight years to replace your mattress, but a good mattress lasts nine to ten years, according to the National Sleep Foundation. However, consider replacing yours every five to seven years if you don’t sleep well. Replacing your mattress can change the way you sleep. So if it takes you a while to get comfortable or you have a lot of pain when you sleep, consider getting a new one. If a new mattress does not help, a doctor visit might be helpful to see what is happening to your body.
