Every year the senior class gathers in Northpark Baptist Church to put on the annual Baccalaureate program. This event features a majority of the seniors and highlights their beautiful, angelic voices… or not. The entire class votes in April on a class song, this year’s being “I’ll Always Remember You” by Hannah Montana, which is sung at the program. Other songs are chosen by the senior sponsors to accompany the main class song. One will be sung by only the girls, one only by the boys, and a few will incorporate everyone. This program is a special moment to honor and acknowledge those who have helped the seniors along the way. Our parents, teachers, and friends have mentored us and molded us into the people we are today, and this program is our way to say “thank you.”

While the Baccalaureate program is optional, participation is highly encouraged. To quote Mrs. Bryan, “This is not about you. This is for your mommas and your grandmommas who want to see their baby up on stage.” Those who are participating must be at at least 70% of the morning rehearsals. This year’s practice schedule is as follows:

GIRLS ONLY: April 29, May 1, 3, 7, 9, 13

BOYS ONLY: April 30, May 2, 6, 8, 10, 14

EVERYONE: May 15, 16, 17

Students may miss 2 split and 1 full rehearsal and still be eligible to participate. Don’t miss out on making more memories with your high school friends for one of the last times before graduation.
