The Springville golf team has been on fire all season. With a highly stacked team, they look to go far this season. This past week they won their county against Ashville, Moody, and St Clair. Jack Hobbs won the individual best score with a 83.

Golf is scored based on par, at par being 72 that is 11 over par. To score you have to get the ball in the hole the amount of times the hole is based on. Like par 3, par 4, and par 5. On a par 4 a 4 would be par, a 3 would be a birdie, and a 5 would be a bogey.

The second lowest score was put in by Bradley Madaris at a 99, followed by a 101 from Connor Lesley, and a 105 from Caden Mobley. With a total of 388, that was the score to beat. Ashville came close with a combined score of 398, and St Clair with a 412. Jack Hobbs said, “We didn’t play well, but we still came out with the W.”

The golf team will now move on to sectionals held at their home course. Connor Lesley claims that he will hit at least 500 golf balls a day to get better; he was very frustrated. Bradley and Jack are trying to make the best of their last season with the team. Congrats to the golf team on their great season and county championship, hopefully they will move on to state.
