The Springville Track & Field team journeyed to Mountain Brook High School on the 12th and 13th of April to race and throw in a very large, very competitive meet. The Tigers had a plethora of PR’s at this contest.

On the sprinting side of the track, we had very successful times.  In the 400 Jace Hayes ran a 54.74 and came in 70th out of 159 people. Quin Huey ran a 12.24 100, and came in 100th out of 162 people. Ian Orr ran a 28.57 in the 200, which is a season PR.  Our 4×100 team ran 45.42, and came 16th.

For the distance it was a busy and tiring two days, many athletes ran multiple races with Caleb Kimmons and Christopher Smith running four distance events, equaling to be 4 miles when all 4 events are combined. In the 3200 we had 3 runners in the race, Caleb Kimmons ran an 11:13 coming in 61st, Chris Smith ran an 11:23 coming in 67th, and Jake Harned ran an 11:54 come in 76. In the 800, Trey Cayse ran a 2:15, Chris Smith ran a 2:12, and Caleb Kimmons ran a 2:10. In the Mile, Chris Smith ran a 5:00, Caleb Kimmons ran a 5:03, and Jake Harned ran a 5:22. The 4×800 Team ran a 9:03 which is a season PR.

In the Field portion, Aaron Byars jumped a 20-08.00 and came in 18th in the long jump. Cameron Bonner, in the same event, jumped 19-07.50 and came in 23rd. In the discus, CJ Williams threw a 97-05.00, Connor Graben threw an 89-06.00. In the Shotput, Ben Bianchi threw a 36-08.50, Caleb McCleney threw a 33-01.75.

As the Tiger’s regular season came to a close with their meet at Hewitt-Trussville on 19th and 20th, their next meet will be their sectional meet on the 26th and the 27th, so come out to Scottsboro and cheer on your Tigers!
