Notre Dame, and 800-year old Cathedral in Paris, France caught fire on April 15. The cause of the fire was said to be an electrical shortage while workers were remodeling some of the old architecture so it would be structurally sound. On the other side of the world, the Al-Aqsa mosque also caught fire. There were no reported injuries or damage due to this fire.The cause of the Al-Aqsa fire was said to be children playing around in the court yard. This is the third holiest site in Islam and is located in the Old City section of East Jerusalem. The actual fire occurred above the prayer hall. Notre Dame and Al-Aqsa may be different, but they have two things in common; age and importance. Both are very important to people of their religions by providing a historic place of worship. Al-Aqsa was built 1,300 years ago and Notre Dame 800.
